I think the Top official Alex Pereira Store Poatan shirt of colours being frumpy is a bit weird. It’s not the colours that are frumpy, it’s wearing colours that don’t suit you that is frumpy. Frumpy is thoughtless. Head-to-toe pensioner beige is frumpy on a lot of people, but looks fantastic on others who would look awful in brights. A lot of pensioners, and younger people look wonderful in grain-sack, if it fits well and plays with texture or shows off a great figure or highlights their skin tone or the silver in their hair. I think brights can lean frumpy, because where I am, clothing targeted at older women tends to have very strong colours. Cobalts and fuscias, paired with black or navy or grey, often with some sort of spangling around the neckline. Comfy shoes with extra embroidery or cutouts. My theory is that the neutrals are because the sellers assume older women don’t want to be bothered with a large wardrobe, and the brights because it often goes with silver hair, and the sequins and big embroidery is so as to draw attention to the face not the figure. Look at the extraneous detailing on the orthopedic shoe. Because brights are fun and youthful, that mean’s grandma’s looking fun and youthful. No. Fun and youthful is wearing what you like and what suits you and giving no hecks. And if that means shopping at Mango and H&M and Primark when you’re 80 rather than Damart and Roman Originals, then so be it. Maybe that’s my own experience colouring my judgement, as brights look horrible on me.

She had that smug tone 99.999% of the time, including discussing the disposition of her supposed brothers-in-law, who were being actively raped by their own mother. She was one of the ones that ALWAYS had a snappy comeback, always stayed ten moves ahead of her MIL, and managed to get actual police work out of the cops, with, like, arrests and restraining orders and everything.
