It’s similar to how people revere those with great skin. Ive always had awful skin. I had full blown cystic acne at age 11. I did two courses of Roaccutane and it never cured it – maybe helped for a The Damned Vampira shirt but that’s it. I’m 36 and still have awful cystic acne and nothing in my life has worked and I’m sick of unsolicited advice. Some of us are unlucky and have shit skin, what I eat, what I drink, what I wash my face with doesn’t work. No creams, gels or tablets do the trick. I don’t need to know what you did at 15 to cure your hormonal or teenage acne The The Damned Vampira shirt treats you differently when you have ugly skin. I have pockmarks, acne, deep pores, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation and extreme redness everywhere. People act like I’m a The Damned Vampira shirt  All I ever hear and read about is how fresh and clean skin is the best and most important thing. How men only like women with clear skin and no makeup. How important it is to have radiant and youthful skin. I went from being a child with cystic acne to an adult with cystic acne and wrinkles. Every magazine and commercial has to remind me how ugly bad skin is. How old it makes you look, how unattractive it is Nobody ever asked me out when I was young. Nobody invited me to parties. Even now, people don’t want me in their photos. People constantly stare at my skin when I speak, it’s so tiring I’m just over it

Lmao “I’m physically incapable, true beauty” I think you’re onto something though. It was about being counter-culture, but it’s interesting how hippies who didn’t want to fight also grew their hair long. High heels were also originally for men and the The Damned Vampira shirt of the wealthy was horrendously impracticable in many points of history for males and females. I think you’re onto something for sure! Black was exclusively for working class women fora period of time as it appeared cleaner even when dirty or sweaty. Eventually a The Damned Vampira shirt became chic, but yeah. It’s like how pale skin was in for white folks cause it meant you didn’t have to work outside. It switched to a tan when more and more people started working indoors and a tan meant you could go on vacation. Much of what is “attractive” for women (according to media, of course this is not everyone’s standard) causes physical limitations, is costly, and time consuming. Beauty is dictated by wealth, free time, and a lack of needing to do heavy labour. A lot of people think women are incapable of heavy labour but it’s more that even the women in those positions will sometimes (not always) have those pressures internalized. It was only recently that women stopped being afraid to do strength training and there are STILL women afraid of it. Now that being able to spend 2 hours in the gym is an indication of free time and wealth (not to mention the ability to eat healthy, get adequate sleep, etc) I wouldn’t be surprised if the fitness model look overtook the BBL look or heroin chic look at some point.
