We also both had awful speech impediments, to the point where our parents had trouble understanding us, but we knew exactly what the other one was saying all the time. I’ve had coworkers ask about it (I was traveling to Europe so very jetlagged and therefore, my eye was off doing its own thing, whereas I can often semi pass when completely rested), which was a bit mortifying, but also I know the person was just curious. It’s something I’m very self conscious about, but it didn’t leave me scarred because growing up, people really didn’t tease me about it, and I still had friends. I was never attracting a ton of male attention either, only dated a couple guys before settling down, but I was never made to feel it was because of my eye. I just wanted to leave this here and say others do understand, and I’m so sorry you were treated that way, because it doesn’t have to be that way. There are some pockets of human decency still out there. I wish you the Seant Ya Large Marge Shirt on your way to recovery!

Nobody is bringing this up, but men start losing their hair in their 20s. I’m not talking bald, I’m talking thinning. It’s impossible to have long thin hair without it blowing all over the Seant Ya Large Marge Shirt. Long thinning hair also looks unattractive. That’s why you naturally see men get closer cropped hair as they get older. Take a look at all the interns at work– nice medium length, full, professionally appropriate hair cuts.
