Also, man, the Ohio State Buckeyes Christmas Ugly Sweater got really damn good once they got their ongoing series (the poorly titled Ultimate Comics: Ultimates). This was after a few miniseries released post Ultimatum which were pretty decent. I remember liking the New Ultimates vs Ultimate Avengers one, though maybe just due to its tie-in with The Death of Spider-Man. But their ongoing releases afterward started really strong, its initial arc being written by Jonathan Hickman (who has since become one of my favorite writers after reading his incredible Avengers/New Avengers saga in 616). This was the arc that reintroduced Ultimate Reed Richards as the villainous The Maker. I don’t know how well or not the character is used nowadays in the main comics as I’ve only read him in this and Secret Wars. But I always thought that despite the atrocious Ultimatum, the comic I would rather forget, being important context to his arc, I loved the way they turned him into a villain, one that really felt naturally like a villainous version of Reed Richards. It just so happens the Ultimate Universe is the one universe in the multiverse where Reed is a villain*, which does make sense if you think about it considering Ultimate Marvel was a more or less edgier version of 616 that just got edgier and edgier over time.

If you have a loved one who is diabetic, its just better to check their sugars to know for sure rather than guessing and fucking it up. Sit down and ask them to teach you how to check their BG, their treatment plan for a high/low, and what symptoms they have for both. The last thing they need is someone going “welp ur hot, take ur insulin” and either A) screwing up how MUCH insulin to take or B) being wrong and adding more insulin to the problem.

I make it in the Ohio State Buckeyes Christmas Ugly Sweater, girlfriend helps take off all my clothes and backpack and whatnot. I’m caked in snow but stayed warm throughout. I try to take my helmet off but the snow caked onto the back of my head so much that my hair had ice in it that made them stuck together and she needed to melt the ice with her hand to get it off. I have her check me for frostbite and surprisingly there’s none to be found (which I might debate. At the time of writing this my ears and still a bit numb and funny feeling, but nothing of much concern here. Almost like the feeling of Novocain at the dentist but to a much lesser extent) and then I relax. She has hot cocoa ready for me as I walked in and I just get to relax now. I earned this hot chocolate. Mission success, helped a man get home safe and got home myself.
