I got into comics maybe 5 years post-Ultimatum and pretty much everywhere I went looking for advice for newbie comic readers said not to bother with it. Even when people list out most of Ultimate Spider-man, since if you want Miles’ story there isn’t THAT much Peter ahead of it all things considered, those rec lists tend to have a noticeable gap around Ultimatum, though. I’ve seen a few that include the single issues you mention about mourning him, basically with “He was dead, then he wasn’t, doesn’t matter, good issue though” in the notes.
