Like OP said, they were easy reads but didn’t feel’easy’ if that makes sense. If you ant to read but turn your brain off (that came off more offensive than I meant, I mean like. Just read and zone.) then they’re not that bad. Characters are distinct, you’ve got Bella The Letch WTF Chick. Jasper The Intense Brother W/ Issues. Emmet The Strong Brother, etc. You don’t have to go “er which ones that. Oh I remember him but what’s he like again?”n Theyre not good books. But you can read them and just kinda zone out. I did like Second Short Life of Bree Tanner a ton though, I have to admit. Worldbuilding in that one was really cool. Lost my copy in a move and I’m still sad about it. The Host feels like a totally different author. Definitely not a zone and read book, characters you will get attached to, I loved it.

I personally cannot find anything wrong with that message. The players, coaches, and owners that knelt this past weekend were kneeling for unity of the right for anyone to peacefully protest injustice. I appreciate the sacrifice many in your family made, and a large number of veterans have come out in support of the NFL players – that they are exercising their freedoms, which is ultimately more important than any song or flag. Yes they know backlash is coming – protest is not supposed to be a comfortable thing. Change to injustices that definitively exist do not come about easily or without uncomfortable situations. I can understand and empathize that many equivocate the anthem for respect to our military, but the real respect comes by exercising our freedoms and seeking a more equal society.

It is crucially important to be believed after traumatic events. One of the ways healing trauma works, is through being believed and witnessed. “Witnessing” does NOT mean you have to in any way relive the trauma! It does mean that you feel heard, supported, and good clinical work is done to manage day-to-day experiences of living with PTSD. And a disbelieving therapist, however well they think they are hiding it, is NOT fair to the client. I get that this is a complex situation, and maybe the therapist wanted to help the client understand WHY others failed to believe her, but with the little you have shared, it sounds like that therapist should not have revealed that. This young woman already struggled with people not believing her, this could only have made it worse. Trust is a fragile thing, and revealing such long-standing mistrust in the client’s story would have done more harm than good. Not an ethical thing to do… “First, do no harm,” applies just as much to my profession as it does to any other health professionals.
