I think it’s truly the healthiest mindset to just try and appreciate the Michigan State Spartans Christmas Ugly Sweater we’re in. Dating as a girl, for my part, seems rather scary as well, though in some ways I suppose I’d rather date as a girl. Being a racial demographic that’s heavily disadvantaged doesn’t really help either. On the other hand, creeps like Larry Nassar still exist, so I’m just starting to think that institutions, not specifically a person’s gender, are really the issue.

So if she’s posting just herself in a  Michigan State Spartans Christmas Ugly Sweater or engaging with others in that way, the first question I have for the fiancé is “why do you want to see OPs cousin like that?” The person that’s going to be considered their family member… A stranger is one thing, but someone who will be at holidays and family celebrations? Then for the cousin “why do you want your in laws/future in laws/possible future in laws to see you in that state?!” And for all other family members not directly involved, do they know about OF or understand it’s reputation? Definitely raises some questions on the fiancé that warrants a discussion, caught in multiple lies covering something creepy, especially when it wasn’t exactly hidden that the cousin did this. He either hid it to look at it, then lied and all that’s red flags and creepy OR he panicked when he saw it, hid it, had no idea what to do, or knew to bring it up to OP but not at Christmas, lied to avoid creating a scene At Christmas with his future in laws but one of the other guys was so creeped out he mentioned it to his SO. Probably have to approach him very calm and understanding to get his true intentions out.
