Let’s say I got a signed Mbappe shirt from PSG last year, I auction it to raise money for charity – it comes out today, like it has, that the shirt might not have been signed by the player. The person who won the auction sues me, demands their money back. Who is liable here? Me because I auctioned it in good faith or PSG who mislabeled what they had given me but gave it to me for free and therefore didn’t profit on it? The charity who accepted the money from an illegal transaction? I’m just saying that this could open up a massive can of worms for PSG. That’s my point though. In the above scenario I auctioned it for charity it in good faith that it was physically signed by Mbappe – it comes out afterwards that it was a random employee who copied his signature, the person who won the auction is rightfully pissed because they now have a shirt that is worthless.
