I want to encourage veterans to get an education because if I didn’t have an education while I was waiting on the VA to make up their freaking mind, I would have been one of the 22 a day. I just refused to give up! I wrote the White House countless times. I got Nexus letters and Vocational Assessments from state certified psychologists that were over vocational rehabilitation in my city. I moved mountains to get this disability that I should have gotten 10 years ago

I had the pleasure of meeting a Luke Combs Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old signature shirt, that met Hitler in 1938, as he was in Vienna, Austria, as the “Anschluss” happened. She was born 1930 and therefore 8 years old, as she handed him some flowers over that her mother had prepared. There’s not much more to say about that, except the thing about Hitlers voice: He had his normal daily-life voice, where only a single audio record is around from his visit to Finland, and he had his public speech voice that was hard and extreme. But as he thanked her, of course he used his normal voice and it was soft and calm, the exact opposite of what you hear in the speechs. Don’t get me wrong: It wasn’t that she really “knew” Hitler. It was not like that she had something to do with him, all she did, was giving him flowers as a girl. And she had no idea, who he really was in that time; she had no idea as a little girl, what would happen and how evil this man was. She spent the time of war in Vienna with her mother, as her father and brothers were conscripted by the Wehrmacht. The worst time was in 1945, as the Battle of Vienna raged between the Germans and the Soviets, there was fighting on the street with tanks and guns. But the main problem wasn’t the fighting, it was the need of food to prevent starvation. That was, what was driving her, just find something to eat, that you can stay alive another day. Her first-hand account of starvation was very impressive for me, because i never met a human that was so close to death by hunger. At some point, you go crazy and you start to eat anything, no matter what. And no, she never turned to cannibalism, that could be prevented, but… when you are down there, when you are dying because of starvation, it’s an option that you really start to consider possible.
