I ask then why are we, coming up on almost two hundred years since the Civil War, still fighting about the same boiled down intolerance, classism, and racism and not adapting to new standards. Why did we not learn from the Civil Rights movements in the 60’s? Why are we doomed to repeat ourselves and judge based on a person’s properties and not their character?
