CIC covers a whole range of constipation types that are idiopathic in origin – meaning that there is no identifiable cause. Colonic inertia is diagnosed with a Sitzmarker test. Nomal is in the range of 24 to 48 hours. That is how I was diagnosed with colonic inertia. Hope this helps.
