Last year I ended up with chase, Higgins and burrow. Didn’t try to stack them but Cha Cha Is There Shirt couldn’t pass them up when they fell to me. No one wanted to give me the buy high value for burrow and no one valued higgins at all even though he had similar numbers to lamb the year before, they offered me garbage for him (I wasn’t asking for lamb value but the offers were trash.) So I said fuck it and continued to start all 3 all year and ended up winning my league. Moral of the story don’t overthink the stack if they both put up good points each week. Everything within that area would be accessible only by those forms of transportation. Considering the Cha Cha Is There Shirt for redevelopment within the core of Detroit extending from downtown to midtown, this could be a huge draw for tech and engineering companies. Additionally, I have always thought Detroit had unique opportunities for redevelopment, and this could be a fundamental part of that redevelopment. What if, instead of train or bus terminals, there were parking garages (below ground if and where possible) constructed at the intersections of major roads and highways, and the boundary of this proposed zone. The parking garages would be serviced by an autonomous electric vehicle system operated by the city of Detroit, in partnership with several technology companies who would be funding the development and operation of the system. This would offset any infrastructure investments, and provide the free transportation for any residents within the zone. Since the vehicles are shared through the service, the need for parking lots and structures within the zone is significantly reduced, which creates additional property available for redevelopment. Besides the assumed reduction in traffic due to the autonomous vehicle system, further reductions in traffic can be made by offering shared transportation options. At the terminal, you have options for private vehicles, shared vehicles, bicycles, etc. The number of private vehicles, being the most expensive option, would likely reduce in comparison to today’s volume. Buses, being the more economical option, would run on set routes within the zone. This is an opportunity that would grab the attention of the entire world. To develop a real world testing ground for next generation, electric and autonomous vehicles. To be able to develop and test support systems in a real world environment, facing real world challenges (including inclement weather). To be clear, I am not proposing the displacement of current residents within the zone. Nor am I championing gentrification within the zone. There are certainly a million things I have not taken into consideration. Likewise, I doubt I have answers for any questions this proposal would generate. Just throwing it out there as a wild idea, a talking point, mixed with a little sci-fi / and futuristic vision… Thoughts?
